Summary
Separated from her family and suffering the consequences of her secret being exposed, Andra struggles to find herself again without Eivor and her children. She knows that more is going on than meets the eye and every day she spends away from Ravensthorpe, the more she feels a looming danger is approaching.
At the same time, Eivor struggles with Andra's absence and her brother's spiraling downfall. Fulke may be dead, but her influence is still seen in Sigurd's choices and mindset, leaving an unspoken danger to rise within the village. She fears for not only her family's safety, but also for her clan as tensions rise in England.
Both have their struggles, but hope isn't lost just yet as both continue forward in making their future possible again.

Summary
Eivor the Wolf-kissed, Jarl of Ravensthorpe, has lived through tragedy after tragedy. However, after her visit to Ireland, Eivor has learned that the deaths of those she loves will not be what breaks her. A fiery, red-headed Irish woman has stolen her heart and vanished in one fell swoop, forcing Eivor to leave Ireland empty handed and lost.
Back home, Eivor learns the cost of her infidelity and loses more than what she bargained for, but the return of her old friend Azar to discuss trade routes to Ireland reignites visions and songs of her lost love and brings Eivor’s lost spirit back to life.
Faced with the memories Azar brought with her, Eivor must face the consequences of her choices in Ireland and choose whether to tell Randvi what is driving her to madness or give in and let it take her. -

However she never thought that one of the horses of Gunnar would have been poisoned and when more incidents happen, it might have to to with the reason why she stopped racing. With the help of Kassandra and their many friends they try to find out who is responisble for all those incidents.
