He felt the wave of air from Nova and Sentry’s heads as they both whipped around to stare at him. But he had nothing to worry about because the subject of his affections, while incredible smart, could be a bit oblivious.
“I love you too, Birdie!” Lucius laughed lightly, his cheeks red with happiness and his eyes sparkled. “Almost as much as I love my husband,” he spun around and smiled blindingly.
Aridan, head resting in his hand stared back at his husband dreamily, a soft, incredibly fond smile painting his lips.
Quill felt a choking build in his chest. A constriction in his lungs that burned. He looked down unable to stop the grinding of his break. He coughed into the crook of his wing and took a hefty drink of wine and felt that heat clear the odd tickle. -
