If only she could protect this girl, a while longer. Yunah closes her eyes and makes a wish.
Unprompted, Moka takes a breath and goes on, to her surprise.
‘I got my period, too, and that kinda… made me more grouchy. It’s stupid.’ Moka’s pretty laugh sounds like muted silver, dimmed down and tinkling low enough for only Yunah to hear.
Moka appears embarrassed bringing up the topic, since it isn’t something they’ve discussed before. Yunah doesn’t mention how her menses came also—not surprisingly, their time of the month has synchronised from the close proximity of living, circadian—but sharing this knowledge feels intimate. Not in a bad manner, though.

The cocky grin is instantly back on Wonhee’s face, as if it had never slipped. “Good,” she says, and the word in her lovely voice sounds like a promise. It sounds like a caress. “Email unnie your flight details and I’ll meet you at the airport,” she commands, looking behind her again. “Gotta go.”
Iroha’s mouth is too parched to reply, and she expects the window to snap closed, but Wonhee remains in front of the screen, eyes running over Iroha with a look that she can only call hungry.
“Baby?” Wonhee says softly, almost inaudibly, and Iroha leans forward. “Godspeed.” Wonhee kisses her fingertips and brings them to the screen, the pads of her fingers momentarily taking up the entire window. Then they withdraw and Iroha sees her smiling sweetly in embarrassment before the window flickers into darkness.

“Park Minju,” Yunah said patiently. “Don’t you understand? Your imperfections are the most beautiful things about you.”
Minju was silent, catching her breath. Her eyes remained fixed on Yunah, so she continued.
“Minju is beautiful, not just on the outside but on the inside too, where it matters.”
Minju raised her head timidly to meet Yunah’s eyes, her face flushed and tired. “I love you,” Yunah said simply.
Yunah looked straight into Minju's sparkling eyes. The night was behind her, sprinkled with stars, and Minju had never looked so beautiful. On impulse, Yunah leaned forward and pressed a clumsy kiss against Minju's mouth.
She had been to Yunah’s house after school before, but never at night. Yunah closed and locked the front door, then turned to see Minju standing in the middle of her living room, bathed in moonlight. Yunah’s heart pounded.
"It's late, Minju," Yunah whispered. "Do you want to stay the night?"
Yunah and Minju are each other's perfect first loves.
Or: In high school, Park Minju meets Noh Yunah, and she saves her.
