Summary
Logan knows he was made for nothing but war. He never went to school. He never even took care of many children. Not even his own children. He certainly isn't qualified to teach anything that didn't involve the shedding of blood.
Xavier saved him. The X-men saved him. Not only from himself but in so many ways than he can explain.
Taking care of these kids is not going to fix anything. Or clean his hands, not even a bit, he's aware of that. But if there's a chance that he can do something right, better than anything he ever did, to help these kids have a better chance than he did. Then he's going for it.

Summary
The canon of X-Men is vast, expansive and widely contradictory so this is kinda cherry picking elements from the comics, the original 2 fox movies, and X-Men Evolution. It takes place a couple months after the end of X2 (but the origin stories/ages are a bit different, the third movie doesn't happen, and there's no weird forced logan/jean romance)
Ok now for the real summary. It's been a couple months after the death of jean grey and the x men are trying their best to cope when she suddenly returns, good as new. After learning of Jean's reemergence, Erik sends a Remy Lebeau to investigate and possibly glean some information for the Brotherhood of Mutants. Despite all of this, the teen mutants (Rogue, Kitty, Jubilee, Piotr, Kurt, Bobby, and now Remy) are trying their best to enjoy their summer vacation.
