wonwoo's been unanimated again, out of commission for a few days.
it’s been happening more and more these days, seungcheol heaves a tired sigh at the amount of magic he would have to use up in order to get wonwoo back up and running again.
"he obviously has feelings and cognitive thought, though,” seungcheol relays to the other magic-user. “i can’t just.. leave him like that, now that i know he’s alive.” because every time seungcheol reanimates wonwoo, the being remembers. even after being reanimated again and again, wonwoo doesn’t forget what happens when he was alive, like a save file being opened over and over again after crashing.
"please don't leave me," wonwoo’s pleads haunt the both of them. "i want to be alive." and if there were any words more heartbreaking than those, seungcheol had never heard them.
or, wonwoo’s not really alive in the way seungcheol and jeonghan hope. at least, not yet.

wonwoo's heart drops. mingyu's expression is adorably shy.
"can i take you out sometime?"
it's everything wonwoo wants to hear, in his deepest of dreams. and yet, his heart feels heavier than a canonball, rather than jumping for joy. wonwoo can only stare at mingyu's bashful expression. it's not like he can brush it off either, mingyu had directed it to wonwoo, specifically, said his name and everything.
but why?
wonwoo's just a beta.

"hyung?" whether mingyu catches wonwoo's emotions from his scent, his stiffness, his expression, the younger's expression turns to concern. "did i—"
"you," wonwoo starts and mingyu immediately shuts up.

mingyu's face turns to hurt and wonwoo wonders why he's doing this, causing the other pain, why mingyu looks to be in so much pain.

Wonwoo didn't remember this "Chan" or the fact that Jihoon even had a brother, which is odd because he's known Jihoon for so long. His saving grace seems to come from how Chan didn't seem to remember either.
There's a part of him that feels relieved, and then there's a part of him that feels guilty for something he doesn't remember doing.
Wonwoo doesn't know how he ended up here or why, but there's this familiar warmth in his stomach, a lingering feeling in his heart pulling him down, telling him "You've been here before."
