“What, do you think I can't take anything you can?”
“I know you can't.” Avon's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. “The first time I took you you almost cried–”
“I did not cry!”
“–And I'm aware my own size is considered average at best,” Avon concludes smugly, and Tarrant isn't sure whether he wants to jump his bones or punch his lights out. Both, probably. “Trust me, you are not even vaguely ready for what I would do to you with that.”
“Really?” To hell with this. Tarrant will let Avon do many things to him, but he won't let him treat him as some spoiled child who can be coddled and condescended to. He grabs the toy again. “Let's find out.”

Summary
Blake knew he had a reputation, but even he did not know how far it extended until the day he was snatched by alien technology from the cell in which he was awaiting Federation injustice.
The crew of the Liberator were trapped by Servalan on the savage planet of Terminal, but unexpected rescue catapulted them into an even more desperate situation, with no way of telling friend from foe in an alien galaxy.
Note: Owing to missing/corrupted sections in the text version I am using, not to mention other fandoms and moving home, this has been subject to a long delay, but is now complete.0

The Machiavelli Factor by Lillian_Shepherd
An old favorite! This was originally published as a hardcopy fanzine in 1982, back in the days when much fanfic was actually edited by an independent party and sweated over as much as (if not more than) professional books due to them being limited-run hardcopy and costing real (and sometimes not insignificant) money to create and obtain. Extremely well-written, well-edited, well-plotted, (basically done well all around) with lots of sci-fi ideas. The cover art for the Waveney Press reprint edition in the 1990s was also beautiful, but neither it nor the interior art has been included here. I still have my copy of the fanzine and will never give it up.
Blake, Cally, and Avon fans will be happy. Tarrant is the only character that doesn't come off well, but the portrayal is in line with his introductory appearances in the show as "almost a villain" and his routinely impulsive decision-making processes in the third series. I love her Dayna and Vila, as well, and the positive portrayal of Blake has my full approval.
As I've been reading, I've noticed some glitches from whatever software was used to copy and transfer the work. Remember its age and that this was from very old editing sw or even scanned from hardcopy.
