Summary
The Lyoko Warriors thought it was all over when they shut the supercomputer down. They were wrong.
Two months after defeating X.A.N.A. in the end of Code Lyoko, they get a message from the re-awakened X.A.N.A., which quickly proceeds to possess William and returns to Lyoko only to face a girl named Mary Wind, a childhood friend of William’s who disappeared years ago. While Mary, trained by X.A.N.A. itself, fails to free her friend, after years of hiding she joins the Lyoko Warriors to stop X.A.N.A. for good. But while the fight continues, everyone is put to a test. Are they up to defeating the AI which grows more powerful all the time?
The first stories of Lyokostar 1 have short parts, while they (at least hopefully) do get longer when the end comes closer. It’s formed by 12 core stories, 12 Megastar oneshots which tell something about Mary’s past behind the scenes of Code Lyoko, while after every section of 3 stories, there is a oneshot named Altestar, a story from life between the sections.
The story is currently in active translation from Finnish to English with changes to the original happening during the translation because some parts require major reworking.

There's some differences, XANA's a real person, owns their own evil empire, but its laid dormant for awhile. That all changes when an event at Kadic draws the empire's attention. Afterwards they work together to help stop XANA! There's just one question, what does Aelita and her partner have to do with the empires plans?
The heroes all come from different regions, taking school at Kadic, where they start school and meet Aelita, a Kalos native who just started school there as well.
William will show up later, but for now its the main cast.The name is subject to change, I just needed to put something down!

Summary: Can Jeremie, who used to be known as Gohan, keep his past hidden from his friends and especially Xana? The worlds of DBZ and Code Lyoko meet in this crossover.This is an old favorite of mine. It could probably use a little more editing and I think a lot of the intended humor has either aged pretty poorly or is just the sort of humor only children and very recently come of age young adults can truly enjoy. A lot of it just reads as mean-spirited in hindsight rather than as genuine humor. Found myself cringing a lot while re-reading it recently as a result.
I also think the story relies a little bit too much on treating the characters featured as one note individuals. I.E It goes in too hard on the popular trend of over-exaggerating the fan created notion that Chi-Chi doesn't really see Gohan as a person, and only cares about how well he does academically and embracing the likewise fan created notion that she's a loudmouth who shouts every single line she ever says.
It takes regular digs at Yamcha's level of intelligence and strength. And it treats Krillin like a useless fighter just there to hand out sensu beans in one scene too. Suffice it to say the author of the story was probably an avid viewer of the TeamFourStar abridged parody series of Dragonball Z which was at the height of its popularity when this story was being written.
On the Code Lyoko end; the way Odd was written, borders on character assassination. He says and does some things that read more like they were written by someone who had a general idea of Odd's character, rather than by someone who had avidly watched the show and knew what his character is meant to be like first hand.
I was relieved that despite all of that, for the most part, my favorite thing about Odd (his sibling-esque bond with Aelita) shined through; since that's one of my favorite dynamics from Code Lyoko. Herve and Nicholas were done super dirty though. At one point Sissi throws away a gift from Herve and it became all too clear then; that the author had no understanding of the dynamic between Sissi and her best buds. It's a shame too, because Sissi was overall pretty well written; with her potential as both an enemy and an ally getting rather well explored.
Still the story plays with some interesting ideas and given how few stories exist crossing these two IPs I think it's definitely still one worth giving a shot. So if you can find the time and you somehow stumble upon it, be it through this bookmark or some other way, I hope you'll give it one and that it'll prove to be an overall enjoyable read. It's an 8.5/10 for me, and I do recommend it despite all of my critiques.
