There were others like him, of course, but what makes him special was the fact that he has developed multiple abilities. In all honesty, it wasn't all that surprising at all. He knew he was never "normal", and it doesn't bother him at all. He just wanted answers, that's all. But nobody told him that it would be deeper than he thought it was.

Invoking my name is only possible when feeling remorse, a feeling unknown to a demon” pausing the voice is still monotone but somehow with an edge of something smug, it continues, “but then again you were never truly a demon, or at least not fully."
What happens when a demon is given a second chance? Is it worth it, if it means being tied to those you've hurt most? Will old truths be dug up, and can time truly heal haunted pasts? Can forgiveness be so easily given and can bonds be forged?

“Yeah, power. You know.” The cane was removed as Cipher began gesturing about with his hands. “Abilities, gifts, skills not of this earthly realm.” He ticked up his eyebrow in a wry look. “I’m talkin magic here Pine Tree.”

Summary
Twins Mabel and Dipper Pines were on their way to Gravity Falls to finally train in the art of magic. Mabel would finally meet her Guardian and form their bond. Dipper, on the other hand, would be learning from their Great Uncle Stanford. The man was considered the greatest magic user to not be connected to a demon, and Dipper hopes to follow in his footsteps or at least live up to such a legend. It becomes clear on their arrival that there is much they don't know about the town, and their own family.
Dipper just wants to help his twin take on the task of being a Charge. He certainly never expected to be one himself.

Mabel Pines was finally going to meet the demon she would be paired with. Her twin brother, Dipper, tagged along to Gravity Falls, Oregon with their Grunkle Stan. Mabel was prepared to hone her battle prowess and defend the world. Meanwhile Dipper hoped to convince their Great Uncle Ford to take him under his wing. He may not learn spells as powerful as Mabel would, and their parents were not too keen on his interest in it, but he certainly could not allow his sister to face her destiny alone. They would take this on together even if he did not have a partner of his own.
