Absence makes the heart grow fonder his gran used to say but Harry hasn’t just been absent. For the relatively short time they spent together during Eggsy’s training Harry managed to make himself so integral to Eggsy's sense of himself, who he could be. In death he’s only become more of a deified figure, along with Eggsy’s father, a man who he can’t disappoint, a man who he never really got to know.
It was painful, grieving for Harry but safe too, keeping him on that pedestal not acknowledging the attraction that was there between them, the desire, in so many ways a terrible idea but undeniable, hopeful. Eggsy spent so long being angry at Harry for leaving him with the unfinished business of making him into a Kingsman, a gentleman, for taking away that hope, what is he supposed to do with the pain of it now?

Eggsy and Jamal are quite respectable these days. Eggsy is a tailor's apprentice, and Jamal a police officer (which that took Eggsy a while to get over but that is so a story for another day). And Jamal wants to propose to Eggsy. Only he hears Harry say that a true gentleman asks for permission to propose.
Now Jamal just has to figure out who he is supposed to ask that of.

Michelle kept it together after Lee died in the marines, never married Dean, and raised Eggsy well. Eggsy joined the marines at 18 and at 24 is home on leave. He has money to spare and a desire for some nice clothes. He decides to splurge on a couple bespoke pieces from Kingsman Tailors. But he has no clue that Kingsman Tailors is a front for the most exclusive escort service in London. And that when he booked his appointment he used the code phrase for the escort services and not just the tailors.
A bespoke fitting is different than Eggsy expected.
Really, really different.
If he had known how different he definitely would have done this along time ago.

Eggsy Unwin had known the comfort, the reassurance of a fathers and mothers touch when you were scared. What it was like to be loved and cared for.That was until his father died, his mother going into a depression and that loving touch was less and less. Until Dean came around, he had shown Eggsy, reminded him, what it was like to be loved by a father figure. It was all great, his mum had stabilized and then Dean moved in. And it all changed. Eggsy no longer knew the tender hand of a parent, but the harsh-bruising one of a man who got drunk and high regularly.
From the time he was 10 - until he was able to escape to the marines for a short time - to when he was saved by Harry Hart; Eggsy had only known the physical pain brought on by the one thing that was supposed to provide comfort.
And now, he flinched away from the tender caress, a gentle hand brought for reassurance, guidance, and it was hard. Especially when it came to his good mate, Roxy, or Harry. And especially concerning his blossoming relationship with Merlin.

Eggsy is a personal shopper and emerging stylist that works out of Kingsman Tailors, and has a huge opportunity coming up. He convinces the antique shop to loan him jewelry but it comes with security guard Merlin.
Two men trying to figure out who they are, and who they will be, and realizing that maybe the journey will go a lot better if you walk it with another person.
