Summary
Team Canada enters into a new CTM map, expecting their usual fun and hijinks collecting sixteen different colored wools. But what they find is a dungeon with a dark secret and a dangerous adversary. When an ancient evil is inadvertently set loose, they must decide how much they're willing to risk to defeat it.
All the while, Etho ruminates on why he and Bdubs didn't team up at the end of Limited Life, why it wasn't "you and me, we'll still stick together." Playing the CTM with Beef and Pause was supposed to give him time away to process his feelings, but as things heat up, Etho is forced to confront his converging issues simultaneously.

"Bdubs," mumbles Etho, wondering if his whole body is on fire or if maybe he's just dying for real now, "What the hell are you doin'?"
"Carryin' you home, sweetheart!" says Bdubs cheerfully. He's got one pack slung over each shoulder--each close to overflowing with stone and ores--and he's carrying Etho like he doesn't weigh a thing. And oh, he's so warm. The cave had been freezing, and maybe the blood loss hadn't helped, but Bdubs is like a furnace.
"'Kay," says Etho carefully, "Why?"
OR
Bdubs really doesn't cope well with death, impermanent though it may be. Somehow, Etho copes even worse with being called sweetheart and babydoll while carried home, faint from blood loss, in Bdubs' weirdly strong arms.

"The time you made me strip before you killed me," Etho answers, watching Bdubs with a lazy smile. They've been playing a long game akin to two truths and a lie with old memories for a week now, split up into little moments and challenges to each other's bluffs when inspiration strikes - like Bdubs dragging him bodily away from a project to be distracted and onto the couch, a formerly normal occurrence that now lead to Bdubs hovering over him consideringly, one knee propped on the edge of the cushions.
