As a matter of fact, Laura had thought about Mila just a few years ago. After her internship ended, there had been no jobs available at Laura’s show but she had wanted to help the girl. As the daughter of a widowed Ukrainian immigrant with no connections and as a graduate from a public university, Mila had a hard time landing in the news industry. Laura had helped her get a foot in the door and landed her a junior job at The Morning Show. When all the rumors of Mitch Kessler started spreading, Laura had wondered how much of a favor she had done the young journalist.

An old intern of Laura reaches out for advice. Laura is glad to offer some guidance to the younger journalist and in this case, she feels like she has to make up for something.
