(This is an "A Mask Of My Own Face" Short. Things will make a lot more sense if you read that one before diving into this collection).
Hate had tried so hard to avoid them. Negative didn’t exactly like her, she knew that much, but they also didn’t exactly seem to dislike the idea of her company as much as she disliked the idea of theirs. Not because she didn’t like them. More so because she didn’t like the idea of what she had done to them. Well, almost done, but her point still stands. She couldn’t wrap her mind around the idea that they didn’t hold her nearly as accountable for that as they should. They seemed to tolerate her. And now, they even seemed willing to subject themself to her presence. What?!
Negative wanted to talk to her about what had happened–about everything. But she still needed Time and space. And they understood. They could give her that. That doesn’t mean that it didn’t hurt though. Despite the fact that they knew they shouldn’t want to make amends with her, part of them felt rejected by her avoidance. And it hurt.
So here they were, sitting behind Hate, decorating her braided hair with flowers next to their Hero.
