Because she was the one singing, and she was the one that drew the crowds - at least, the mainstream crowds. Josh had his admirers, as did Rachel and Katrina. Janice Wood, though? She wasn’t just good, she was great.
That was exhausting sometimes.
What was even more exhausting was the look that Katrina had given her at the end of that song.
So what, maybe it wasn’t her reputation that she cared about. Maybe she didn’t care what the thousands of people in the crowds thought. Maybe the eyes that followed her from behind the drum kit were the ones that she really wanted to captivate.
