Many thousands of years before the events of KOTOR the Rakatan Infinite Empire dominates the galaxy, with no enemies on the horizon. All races, including Humans and Sith, are subjugated to the Rakatans. But the Empire, at the zenith of its power, is actually about to collapse, and that story begins with an uprising on the world of Korriban and the capture of a family on the world of Tatooine. From those starting points a plot will be revealed which will destroy the Empire, and set the stage for the rise of the Jedi and the Galactic Republic.
A prequel to Knights of the Old Republic that provides a more fully developed story of what happened to the Rakatans and how they relate to the species that rose to prominence after them.

Before the Sacking of Coruscant, Rinnil Sendo was born into the persecuted tribe of Twi'leks known as the Kalikoris. She was born above Tython's orbit as her people were smuggled into the Jedi homeworld. Nearly four years later, she was found Jedi Knight Yuon Par, and was brought into the Order.
She trained as a Jedi, but remained as a Kalikori, often visiting her home village during her trials. One-and-a-half decades later, she is nearing the end of her time as a Padawan. But on the dawn of her people's 'Festival of Awakening', the Jedi Temple's archives are looted, and the Council suspects the culprit is from Rinnil's village.
This segment is the start of a larger saga, and explores an altered view of the Jedi Consular's story arc on Tython, during SWTOR.

Hera Syndulla was 14 years old and assisting in flying a relief mission when the Empire took her away from her family and sent her to an Imperial Academy as a means of controlling her family. Padawan Caleb Dume died at the age of 14 while he was running like a coward as his master was gunned down; the womanizing, bar brawling, selfish Kanan Jarrus was born only days later in a desperate act of self preservation. Sabine Wren was 10 years old when her private tutors informed the Empire that she was a prodigy and she was forced into the Imperial Academy on Mandalore. Alexsandr Kallus was born on Coruscant, the top of his class at Royal Imperial, and a promising Imperial Officer that could have had any promotion he desired; promotions that he consistently declined.
With no ties binding them except the Empire, the four find themselves thrown together as clearly reluctant crewmates in a fight against the Empire and an evil like none the galaxy has seen before.
Hera simply wanted revenge. Kanan just wanted to live. Sabine lost everything. Kallus can't come to grips with what he is.
Together, they'll have to find a reason to fight; especially when the only other option is dying.

Not while your eyes are blue, not while you still have Light within you, and not while there is someone else upon which to lay blame.”The Jedi suffer a mass vision, one of death and horror. One of the end of the Order and the Republic. In order to prevent this and save their family, in order to plan, they run to far corners of the galaxy. They lock down as hard as they possibly can. It allows them to truly reflect, for the first time in decades.
