Uranus continued the short walk up to the second floor, movements becoming more and more sluggish with each step. She caught movement in the corner of eye and yelped. She slapped a hand over her mouth and stumbled backwards on the step until her back hit the wall. Her eyes were pinched closed, not wanting to watch whatever was about to happen…
But the pain never came.
She whimpered, eyes peeling open once more only to see a black feather gently floating down the center of the stairwell.

Uranus wasn’t sure. He tried to blink several times and ended up just closing his eyes as he slumped in place, trying to think through the sudden haze in his thoughts. He’d been painting just fine for—well, he actually wasn’t sure how long it’d been, because it felt like he kept winking in and out of existence, and he’d nearly toppled over into his easel and painting once or twice.
…He probably just needed to drink some water. That was all, right?
Just a little bit of water, and he’d be… fine.
