General Hux is extremely pleased by the outcome, which nets him a wife in the offing. Unfortunately for Ren, it nets him a wife, as well: Princess Danise, a tender young woman with a dark childhood and a rebellious streak.
Kylo is disillusioned with his new life and plagued with regret for his shattered family; he secretly longs to make amends with his estranged mother and the father he couldn't bring himself to strike down, grateful Han is still out there somewhere in the galaxy. Danise, meanwhile, is broken by the death of her father and the bitter betrayal of her remaining relationships, having been traded away by her family like property.
