He can tell by her tone she means business, so he obeys, turning the volume way up so that the bass reverberates through the car. And then, to his utter surprise, Natalie begins to sing loud and off-key, her face pinched in pain.
Richie blinks at her. "You know all the words?"
"Fuckin' drive!"

The voice... it's familiar, but not one Cheng Xiaoshi can immediately recognize. Over Lu Guang's suddenly tense shoulder he sees a tall figure clad in an elegant costume, dark, not that much unlike the ones Tianchen made them wear. A big, floppy hat falls over most of their features, hiding them, but Cheng Xiaoshi can still spy some black hair brushing against the sides of the person's neck.
They're smirking, lips a thin line over a defined jaw. They don't look dangerous, not really, but Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't quite feel safe with them blocking the way towards the exit signs.
Much less when he realizes Lu Guang is frozen still like a statue, barely breathing as he faces the dark figure.
Cheng Xiaoshi goes to move in front of him, ready to protect him this time.
Lu Guang doesn't allow him to.
In their way out from a nightmare, Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi manage to stumble into another one.

Summary
This is pure head cannon for how I believe Nurse Chapel and Spock eventually reconnect after the Gorn attack in S02E10. Behind closed doors, Spock is a bit more human and Christine is a lot more open with herself and with him. I believe they love each other but just are too deep in their own heads to really understand what they means. This fic is meant to explore what happens when they finally find a way to confront what is getting in the way, specifically Christine.
I've never written Trek fics before in my life but I love these two and hope the show explores them before moving them on to closer to cannon relationships. Personally, I would be ok with them scrapping cannon and just running with this pairing.
