Upon entering he was surprised to see a small, familial figure standing before the expanse of glass.
After their visit to the Mirror Universe Scotty has trouble sleeping, it turns out he's not the only one.

She remembered alternate Sulu’s grip on her chin, his arms against the bare skin of her waist–and tugged at the hem of the long-sleeve top she’d donned like armor to leave her quarters. Leonard's voice shook as he stared down at his hands, eyes glazed over and lost in the oppressive memory of that place. He continued, “I got the injuries treated but that was all hypos and light regens, barely anything personal, nothing human about it.”

So we all know that in the original timeline Kirk doesn’t end up with La’an when all is said and done, and that she’s not on the Enterprise. But seeing that possible future La’an who serves on the Farragut at the end of S1, who is warm and open makes you wonder what happened to get them where they’ll be… and, where we know they won't be.
Picks up after Hegemony, with La’an once again captured by the Gorn. Starts with Kirk’s POV as things are broken off with Carol, and he tries to call her in his grief needing a distraction from his breakup. She doesn’t respond, and suddenly red alert hits and the Farragut warps to the aid of Enterprise and Cayuga. Kirk feels like a dick, but can’t dwell on it.
NOTE: Entirety of work written before author saw season 3. Final two chapters published on the day the season premiered (hey, can't say I didn't have a deadline!). Cannon compliant for TOS, movies (non-Kelvin timeline), and seasons 1 & 2 of SNW.

General Kenobi looked directly at him, except he didn’t. He was looking at him physically, sure, but his eyes appeared far away, like he was seeing something through him. '
General Kenobi is overtaken by strange episodes, as if he isn't connected to his body. Cody finds him each time, and figures out what to do to solve it.
Or, five times Cody finds Obi-Wan in a derealization episode, and one time Obi-Wan finds Cody himself.
