Summary
Gavin thought his days crawling around with the dredges of society were over. A new case calls for his help, though, and he's left with no choice but to go undercover and find out what the fuck is going on. When the case is finally over, though, he's forced to leave someone he's begun to care about behind, leaving an open wound to fester and grow, forming new tensions that are unfortunately close to snapping.

The RK900 wakes up to a world already free. The members of Jericho accept him with surprising quickness. He has freedom, a home, a few friends even.
But something isn't right, and it nags at the back of his thoughts constantly. Strange glares, sharp words, and old pains lurk around every corner. The revolution might have ended successfully, but it has not been equal in its granting of pardons.
And where has his predecessor gone?

Summary
Connor does wonder if Hank knows the night he killed him was also the first night he really felt alive, even if he did everything he could to hide it, to answer Hank’s questions the way he knew he should. He wonders if Hank knows that it wasn’t just the dying that hurt, but that Hank only did it because he was so sure Connor was just a machine. For all their differences, Connor knows Hank wouldn’t kill someone.
He just didn’t think Connor was someone.

In November 2038, after they went to Eden Club, Hank shot Connor in Riverside Park. Connor has never forgiven him for it.
But against the backdrop of their own regrets and an android murder case that's larger and more complicated than it first seems, Hank and Connor find each other again when Connor is assigned to the DPD by a government workplace placement program for androids.

Summary
Connor didn’t quite know what he was thinking about. He just knew that his thoughts kept happening. Thinking about a topic with some clarity, and then that topic… faded. A heavy kind of silence in his head that he couldn’t help but get lost in. Unmoving and quiet.
It felt as though a thick blanket of snow had settled on top of him, and Gavin was above that snow. Now and then sound or thoughts would filter through more clearly, just for a few moments, before the quiet swallowed him up once more.
