Summary
Several months after making her happy return to the estate she fell in love with the previous summer, Elizabeth Darcy wrestles with the emotions brought on by the new reality of her marriage. Although her love for Mr Darcy and Pemberley has never wavered, she struggles with her new responsibilities and those expectations placed upon her. Although Mr Gardiner is a merchant, he (or rather Mrs Gardiner) is not as unconnected as might be expected and Elizabeth finds herself moving among the Ton when Mrs Gardiner's cousin remarries. The Matlock's are welcoming to the young displaced woman who they see as being a perfect match for their reserved, prideful, and very eligible nephew/cousin.
