It starts with a drink, and when Ao’nung is drunk, he goes to Spirit Tree to talk to Eywa herself; it turns into a quarrel with the great mother. A one-sided quarrel about letting one of her sons, - Neteyam, die at the hands of the humans. Ao’nung screams and cries his heart out to Eywa.
“Give him back!” He screams, not understanding the deep anguish that he is feeling.

Ao’nung yelling at Eywa to give Neteyam back.

En realidad, no podía dejar de pensar en el pasado de su padre porque fue su condición de refugiado político lo que los llevó al lío en el que se encontraban ahora: se habían mudado de su aldea en su árbol natal a un pueblo junto al mar llamado Awa'atlu. Neteyam no se había quejado ni un poco, pero no pudo evitar sentirse algo amargado por tener que mudarse, incluso si entendía que tenía que hacerlo. Ahora, el bullying era solo otro gran problema para agregar a su creciente lista, además de que Tuk hizo una mini huelga de hambre y Kiri desperdició todo su crédito telefónico llamando a Spider.

But one day, Neteyam has a future that lasts about 5 hours, of course his siblings and their dear friends connect with neteyam to see what was happening in the vision. and oh dear, this changes everything for them. and now they will all try to change the future that is about to come and destroy them all.

Ao’nung has got himself in big trouble, even if he is one of the most feared men out there. In the middle of the night a fire broke out in their main home. Their children got out safely, but Neteyam and himself are stuck in the house.
The fire was horrible, and Ao’nung vowed that he won’t ever let anything bad happen to Neteyam.. So he used himself to protect Neteyam from the fire. Even if that resulted in his “death.”

Was he shot? Had he been stabbed? Was his abdomen sliced open? Were his organs spilt out all over the floor right now? Neteyam knew something was wrong- his body was screaming at him about it. He tried to lift himself up, but collapsed immediately, the pain making him feel like he was about to throw up.
“Neteyam!”
Neteyam’s head shot up as he heard his mother’s voice, making out her ikran’s silhouette through the smoke. “Mom?” He croaked weakly, though it was enough, as he could see her running towards him.
“Neteyam! Oh, Great Mother, thank you!”
Neytiri crouched down next to Neteyam, grabbing him and holding him in her arms in a tight hug, whispering prayers and thanks to Eywa that her son was alive. Neteyam was overjoyed to see her, but let out a pained shout as she dragged him into her embrace, the motion sending more white-hot pain through his body. Neytiri looked down at him with panicked eyes, before her gaze shifted down, past Neteyam’s face.
Suddenly, Neytiri let out a shriek, covering her mouth in horror.
Something was very, very wrong.
