Ben’s face passes through his mind–his ears start to ring.
“Look, when–when–when you can do the things I can, but you don’t and then–then bad things happen–” Mr. Stark leans forward, a sad look in his eyes. “They happened because of you.”
And then they are at a standstill.
The sad look in Mr. Stark's eyes isn’t fading and Peter almost feels guilty for being the reason why he is upset. He shuts his eyes and presses the heels of his hands into his eyes.
The pressure of his hands on his eyes helps ease the pain and he takes a deep breath again before opening his eyes and looking back at Mr. Stark.
“So you want to look out for the little guy?” The air barely vibrates and that clues Peter into the fact that he’s whispering, “You want to make the world a better place, do your part, all that?”
Peter nods.
“I can respect that.” Mr. Stark nods and crosses to sit on the bed, the air continues to vibrate but the man isn’t facing him, so Peter ignores it.

After Tony's death, Stephen couldn't cope with it. He was given another chance to undo it but it came with challenges that he is ready to face anytime for his love.
He is sent back to the time before Tony goes to Afghanistan and he is forced to let it happen.
Tony comes back, but there is a change, like earlier Tony didn't announce that he is Iron Man.
In this whole world, only six people know Iron Man's identity who are alive, his three friends Colonel Rhodes, Pepper Potts, and Happy Hogan, two people from SHIELD Nick Fury, and Phil Coulson, and lastly, Stephen a neurosurgeon who met Tony a day ago before he goes to Afghanistan and in no way can he get this information until unless he too was involved.
It's not only a challenge for him to change the future but first to get Tony to trust him, which isn't easy after such a betrayal from his own.

Fury pulls the new Avengers team together for a training exercise but makes a poor choice, and Peter gets the brunt of it. Tony reacts predictably, especially when he realizes he doesn't know everything that happened back during the Homecoming fiasco.
(Part of the Strands in the Rope/Unbroken Strands series, but honestly any of these stories can mostly be enjoyed as stand-alones if you fill in background relationships yourself. :) Just know that everything in canon happened (but a lot more!) up until Infinity War would have happened, but then we took a hard right and reimagined everything after that point! The Avengers are back and trying to figure out how to work together again, and Tony and Peter are basically family, and everything is as it should be!
