Ruby is determined to get Qrow clean from alcohol no matter what. But the stress of it nearly breaks them both as they contend with their failings and their failures in what time they have before their family returns home.
Both of them have a choice to make: they can either trust in each other and in the help that others have offered, or they can cling to the tendencies that have allowed them to stay alive until now.
And it’s not long before Ruby realizes that the darkness they both harbor might be exactly what’s needed to let them both begin again…

Qrow and Raven, they were the best around... but now Raven is gone and Qrow is in retirement, building out a seawall in Solitas as a last-ditch effort to stop the Grimm and grieving hard.
When Marshal Hazel Rainart asks him to come back to the program during its twilight days, he refuses at first. But honor wins out, and it's there at the end of the line that he meets Ruby Rose.
