Summary
It's spring of 1974 and Ruby Redfort wakes up alone in a hospital bed with no memory of the past year of her life. Her parents somehow have a new butler, who seems to be Clancy Crew's new best friend.
Ruby's pretty sure she's missing something important but she's even more certain that Clancy is trying to hide something from her.
Even worse, the butler is sure she hasn't been injured from falling out of a tree or some other darling childish mishap but that someone has purposely tried to put her in hospital.

Summary
For newly fourteen-year-old Ruby Redfort, life feels like a constant stream of Mondays.
No mention of the Count since January means that she has passed her birthday and a new semester at school in relative peace, able to finish her Spectrum Field Training without any major missions.Longing for some action, she finally comes across the Count again. Only... life starts to feel just as repetitive.
Suspiciously repetitive.
(Or: Twinford is stuck in a time-loop, and Ruby is the only one who can remember the day when it resets. The only way to stop the loop is to prevent an unavoidable death. Time to catch up on her To-Be-Read Pile you'd think, or maybe try out fire-breathing, except Ruby isn't the one to die. It's Clancy.)

It's 1978. Ruby, Clancy, and the rest of their year have just graduated Twinford High. Ambassador Crew has thrown a graduation party at their house - there's few perks to being the Ambassador's only son, but this is definitely one of them - and Clancy is determined that it will be a night to remember.
But then Ruby randomly says she loves him. And that doesn't make sense - at least, not to him. Love is for people you love, right? Not your best friend of who knows how many years?
So Ruby and Clancy have a long conversation on the balcony about friendship, platonic love, and the people that matter the most. And decide that maybe it's time they move in together.Yet more excuses for me to explore how well these two work together, and the fact that nobody is going to complete Clancy Crew like Ruby Redfort ever - romance sure is great, but there's nobody else like her. Also an ABBA title because you can't write fics set in the 70s without them.

Summary
"I don’t know. I just don’t get why everyone seems to be so obsessed with boys or with girls, and why it means we can’t all just hang out like we used to."
Sixteen year old Ruby and Clancy don't quite fit up the tree on Amster Green anymore, but they still sit there to talk about anything and everything all the same. Ruby finds herself musing on everyone else's sudden apparent interest in the opposite sex, and the fact that her life doesn't seem to be heading in that direction. A house with Clancy would suit her far better than with any of the guys and girls of Twinford, anyway. Clancy may not entirely understand, but he's always there to lend a sympathetic ear and remind her that they're still young anyway. Adulthood is a long way off, and who cares what comes next when you have your friends with you right now?
Just an excuse for me to ramble about platonic connections and the aromantic disconnect from your peers via Ruby Redfort, because if there's anyone that gives me aroace vibes, it's our favourite teen secret agent.

At the big age of 17, life's not all that changed, and Ruby is still the same girl she was at 13. Maybe a bit more grown up, a bit more self conscious, a bit more scared. But still totally in control, and still the best agent Spectrum has. Maybe a lot has changed, wouldn't make a difference though, right?

All she has to do is give everyone around her that last little push towards finally getting together. It's worked out perfectly in all of her fanfiction at least.
