Gillion was growing restless.
Chip had said about a week ago that he was finally going to start training Ollie, claiming that now that their adventures were growing more and more dangerous, the small half-elven boy needed a way to properly protect himself if one of the crew was not around to help, and while Gillion does understand, he really does! He just can't help that sinking feeling that someone Ollie's age doesn't need to go through all that training entails!

Summary
As Gillion walks past his barrel to perch on the edge of the spare cot, he realizes 'empty' isn't the right word. He feels shattered. His hands are distant, discordant and foreign to him as he watches them resting atop his thighs in half-curled fists, thin fingers furling around nothing. He watches as his muscles contract, claws emerging mechanically before retreating back into their sheath. He acknowledges the sinkhole in his stomach, a pit he'd been aware of and ignoring for the last few days in favor of remaining in a functioning state. He's not sure when it happened. Maybe when he heard the original prophecy, maybe when he had to repeat it out loud. Maybe it came from seeing that statue outside of the old bar, or maybe it'd appeared much farther back, when a similar pit had opened in Chip's chest, in that throne room. Gillion tries not to think of the statue, of its blank face and moss-covered muscles. He tries not to think of the way his own body has strayed from that image, of how soft and round he is now in comparison to what he'd looked like before he'd been banished.
The bed shakes as someone sits down behind Gillion, and then Chip is knocking gently on his temple.
"Helloooo? Anyone home?"

As the two captains turned to leave, Chip couldn’t help but spare a glance back at the sleeping Gillion, unease rising deep in his gut.
But it was fine. He’d be up by morning.
It was okay.
But Gillion was not up by morning like Jay had suggested. Nor was he up by the afternoon, or even as the sun dipped back below the sea line. Chip was starting to feel like it was not fine.or:
Gillion gets hit with a curse that sends him into a deep sleep. Chip and Jay struggle to run the ship without him while they search for a way to wake him up. Gillion cannot escape his past, even in his dreams.

Admittedly, down through a hole by the looks of it this time. But there was no mop of green hair spread across the surface to let Chip know Gillion had survived the fall and was cheerfully swimming his way back to them.
Not even the ripples of their impact remained far, far, far below.

“We should get married,” Chip suddenly blurted, lifting his head up from the counter so suddenly that he nearly hit his head against Jay’s. His hands scrabbled for purchase against the edge of the bar counter as he tried to get his balance, staring at Jay as if he had just gotten the best idea in the world.
“Huh?” Jay pulled back, eyes widening ever so slightly as she stretched her legs out to hook her ankle around Chip’s stool, still keeping them close together but leaning herself away. She furrowed her eyebrows at Chip frowning slightly.
“Like…” Chip leaned forward some more, placing both hands on the counter, “... Like you and me and… and Gill! We can get married…”

Summary
All Chip wanted was a peaceful day with hanging out with his crew and meeting up with the Grandberry pirates for a drink. But Chip never gets peaceful days. Instead, he is thrown into a horrible, death-defying situation.
Of course, Chip at this point had to be used to this. All of the Riptide Pirates were. However, he wasn’t prepared for the great Captain Reuben Price to show his ugly face again, and standing up on his own for that matter.
Uh oh!! Chip gets the shit beaten out of him thanks to Price’s gang and Gillion and Jay (but mostly Gillion) have to go rescue him!!
