Summary
Neil Josten has always been terrified at the very thought of alcohol entering his system, but Nicky is persistent and Neil is in need of a break. His mind proves to be more of a danger to him than alcohol ever could be, but Andrew is there to catch him when he falls. Always.
He took it without letting himself think about it for another second, acutely aware of Andrew’s eyes watching his every movement.
“You’re staring,” Neil said, looking back at him.
“You’re drinking,” Andrew noted. Andrew’s eyebrows furrowed as he watched Neil’s gaze go distant for only a second before he came back. Realization caught Neil by the sleeve of his jacket and Andrew saying, “And we’re leaving."

It’s the middle of June and Nicky has insisted that the whole gang join him for the Pride party that Eden’s is hosting this weekend. Nicky is, of course, decked out in head-to-toe rainbow attire and glitter. He bought Neil a subtle pride shirt: a plain black t-shirt with a little rainbow flag on the breast. (he’s also secretly wearing the rainbow boxers that Nicky bought him, even though he swore he wasn't going to) Nicky tried to rope Andrew into the rainbow-clothing-haul, but he was having none of it, so Nicky settled for a rainbow sticker placed on Andrew’s cheek; Neil has a matching one placed over his burn scars on his cheekbone.

For a moment he considered tasting Neil’s blood again, that it wouldn’t really count, but he knew in principle it did. But rather than change the scene he stayed kneeling, watching the color come back to Neil’s face, Neil’s wrist still in his hand. And that’s where he stayed the rest of the night. Neil assuring Andrew he was fine, Neil’s skin warming as proper blood flow returned, the rate of his pulse returning to normal, familiar territory. Something new to bump up against.

The plan was simple, wait for Aaron to leave the locker room for practice. Take his phone from his backpack, take a quick look, and put it back. No harm would be done to Aaron, and Andrew could rest easier knowing their deal hadn’t been breached.
Andrew sat in front of his locker, waiting for Aaron to leave with Matt Boyd and begin warm-ups. When suddenly, Dan Wilds, captain of Palmetto High School’s exy team, knocked on the door. She entered, followed by Allison, Renee, Coach Wymack, and finally a new kid.
Andrew immediately slumped down on the bench and sighed. The Aaron Plan, as he had named it in his head, would have to wait because Andrew’s interest was peaked. Even if he truly didn’t care.
“Hello everyone, this is Neil Josten. Our new striker sub for this upcoming spring season.” Dan introduced the new guy, before nodding towards Wymack.
