Before getting much of a chance to relax, they're given orders to find and get rid of Don Corneo who's been spotted in the area. Reno just wants a break from work and to forget what happened during his and Rude's previous meeting with Corneo, but it's easier said than done.

“Yo, Partner, you’re back late,” Leaning his arms atop the couch-cushions in a now-familiar sight, Reno props his chin against his forearms. He isn’t wrong to point it out - Rude will always be the first to admit that he is usually such a stickler for schedules. “You run into some trouble?”
He swallows back against a sudden and unpleasant lump in his throat, as the truth bubbles somewhere in his gut.
A sudden weight.
He can’t say it.
“Promised I wouldn’t have too much fun without you, didn’t I?” Hanging his jacket up, straight and neat on a hanger in the entryway closet, Rude straightens his tie and removes his gloves. When he glances over, he can see Reno watching his movements - that typically sly smile, ever-present on his features.
“That’s what I like to hear.”

“Ma keeps it neat as she can, I guess.” Reno leans a little heavier into Rude’s side, and hums. “Pop works construction, above plate - Edge. So he’s pretty good at patchin’ the place up when stuff...”
He makes an attempt at a sound effect that might be a building crumbling, or might be an approximation of radio static.
“Just you three livin’ here?” It is a small building - a matchbox of a home - which Rude doubts has more than a handful of rooms, inside.
“Nah, little brother ‘n two sisters, too.”
At that, Rude blinks.
He wouldn't have guessed that Reno had siblings at all. Let alone three.

Summary
The chiming echo of bullets hitting the other side of the container is almost deafening, as Rude watches the rise and fall of Reno’s chest, and tries to slow his own breathing, in turn. That distracting little cluster of freckles on Reno’s collarbone, just visible beneath the open collar of his shirt, catches his eye once again. He starts his breathing exercise over.
Reno glances his way, and if he even noticed what had caught Rude’s attention, he doesn’t say anything about it now. “They’re really upping their game this week, yo. You think we did something to piss ‘em off?”
Pulling his gaze away, and cocking his gun to check how many rounds he has left (twelve shots, not ideal, but enough), Rude shrugs. A picture of calm beside Reno’s almost-vibrating silhouette.
“Exist?” He offers. Reno snorts, and takes Rude’s lead, checking the charge in his electro-mag rod. He groans.
