Summary
A day or two after Eragon is released from Tronjheim's hospital Murtagh finds himself saddled with the responsibility of looking after the young Rider solo. After a day out on the town, they find a garden squirreled away in one of the many caves, and Eragon is elated to find a plant there that he recognizes from being local to Palancar Valley and the Spine.
At least, he assumes it is. Murtagh was not prepared for this.
(This story came about after I fished for prompts and a reader sent this one in: "I want Eragon being a dumbass when Murtagh is the only one to look after him, or the aftermath when Brom finds out about the dumbass thing.")

Summary
After breaking the Star Sapphire with Saphira and witnessing Eragon vanquish Durza at a heavy price, Arya attempts to heal the boy's wounded back despite her weakened state. Not one to give up, especially where Eragon and Saphira are involved, the elf takes a risk and overdoses on emergency adrenaline stims in a desperate effort to keep Eragon from bleeding out before help arrives. It goes about as well as could be expected.
Vilks, the Varden's doctor in charge of all things weird, magical and wounded, gives Arya a reality check on her current state. No one goes through what she did unscathed, especially not in the physical sense.

The MIC rewrite/take on the escape from Gil'ead and a handful of the following chapters. It's not as silly as it sounds.

Many of the beginning chapters will be very similar, despite me trying later on to add details to make them different, but ultimately I want to send this story in a different direction than the author did, so please give this a try.
Oh, and read the original work. The story is nice.

Saphira scratched her muzzle with a claw, looking up at him with big, guilty eyes.
Eragon pet her nose in consolation.
"It's fine, saphira. These things happen. Just don't swallow random ants next time?"
He begun scratching her chin as if she was a dog.
"Good girl... Who's a good girl? Who's a good girl?"
The hatchling swished her tail, mouth gapping as she leaned into his hand.
Eragon continued to scratch her chin, still talking as if she is a dog.
"Yes you are. Oh, yes you are... Who's my little princess? Who's my little princess?"
