Thirty some years have passed since Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Brightscales left Alagaesia with a cohort of elves, eldunari, dragon eggs, and his brother Murtagh with his dragon Thorn to rebuild the Riders from the ground up.
But when a suspiciously timed assasination attempt of both Queen Arya and Nasuada is foiled thanks to increasingly cryptic visions by Eragon and Murtagh . Their prescence is demanded back the snaking courts of Illiria and Ellesmera. Ugly age old plots rear their heads for the first time, zealous remnants of tyrants past plot the overthrow of the status quo. While the slow moving courts of the Elves picks up the speed of their schemes at a frightening pace. Two brothers for two courts. Slowly and inexorably, Eragon and Murtagh must uncover a plot older than the time of Galbatorixes reign as High King while navigating predatory lords, ancient foes, and a rapidly changing & dangerous political landscape.

Eragon and Murtagh have grown up together with their uncle Garrow and cousin Roran since childhood. One night, they discover two stones; one blue, one red. When out from the stones hatch a pair of dragons, the brothers are pulled into the dangerous life of rogue Dragon Riders as they are hunted by the evil King Galbatorix and his terrifying servants. Taken in by storyteller Brom, they travel for the Varden, the resistance force fighting the empire.
Eragon is barely 16, unprepared for the challenges ahead of them, and always getting into trouble. His dragon, Saphira, has her work cut out for her keeping him alive. But as their journey goes on, he finds his dreams plagued by a beautiful woman in terrible pain...a pain he must soon face himself.
Murtagh is only just a man, worried that his younger brother is not ready for a life of war, and unsuspecting of his own origins. He and his dragon Thorn have plenty of things to keep an eye out for as their situation worsens. Though Murtagh thinks he understands the world, one of Galbatorix's hunters could shake everything he thought he knew.
With the Varden just clinging on and their lives dangling by a thread, the brothers are in for the fight of their lives.

Another fable tells a Hero chosen by Doom instead of Destiny.
This is not either of those tales.
Due to magical mishaps, Eragon is not chosen by a dragon fated to save the world, but one destined to destroy it. Two disparate realms must find common ground before both are swallowed by shadow.
Or: a crossover in which Saphira is born as a World Destroyer, but finds her way to Eragon anyway.

Eragon and Arya are finally living together in the East. The New Order of the dragon riders is growing, life is ordinary, and Alagaësia is peaceful, but there is an adventure they would like to embark on. Moving past the heartbreak of two miscarriages at the beginning of their relationship, and the knowledge that conceiving for them is difficult, Eragon and Arya will try to fulfil their desire to be parents. Will they defeat the odds?
The story, ideally, takes place after the amazing work “Of Poems and Maps”. It is not strictly necessary to have read it first, but my story contains multiple references to life events Eragon and Arya went through in that fic. It begins around 10 years after "Of Poems and Maps" events and it explores one storyline the author left open.

Join our protagonists (a bunch of talking animals and fictional characters) on an adventure beyond imagination. Really, you want to read this. Very badly. There's something for everyone: original characters and borrowed ones, cats as well as dogs, gay relationships as well as straight ones, battles in space and battles in the courtroom, country music as well as pop and dubstep, and of course your charming and wonderful authors. This work by AandMProductions' Scatteredplot Press is the first in a set of three (in the works since 2012), and has its own glossary, character chart, map, and playlist.
