She had expressed a desire to share her sweets in particular with those too small to treat themselves. It was the first court event Colin had ever seen where the foodstuffs were packaged in stiff paper containers that could close like a box. He was holding Elliot up to see the grand garden, and Nanny had the cloth sling bag of necessary items to keep a child clean as well as a rather generous portion of buttered popcorn. She held it within reach when Elliot had chewed and swallowed the previous kernel.
Rumour had it there were wax bags of bonbons served at the peacocks, sorted into colours like the fanciful tails. Further on, chocolates with fruit cream fillings were a take home treat in their foils. Ice cream was being served near her albino elephant, the vanilla scoops set into edible waffle cups shaped like the beasts.
