Chapter 1 - A Fresh Start. A New Direction
A healthy, recovered Scott starts his own life for the first time. While he would love to mend the broken bridges with his father, he understands the only way forward for him is to learn to live without it ever happening. He has learned his physical and mental health means he has to forgive his father but by no means forget what happened to him because of Jeff's inability to acknowledge that Scott was indeed better than he is at running TI and IR and that his refusal to work together with his sons is what is putting International Rescue in jeopardy now that all his sons are persuing their own lives. Until Jeff stops being stubborn and accepts that IR's longivity relies on him hiring Scott's services, not only could IR fold, but he will never repair his relationship with Scott.
While Scott navigates his new life, he finds himself stumbling into familiar people from his IR past. Which ones will he remain close to, only time will tell. -

Summary
I love TOS/TAG with all my heart, but I really wished they'd done a TAG version of The Uninvited. Get rid of the guns and the (kinda accidental?) ethnic genocide, and it's a great ep, and the new dynamics of TAS would have only improved it. Like what do you mean your big brother has been shot down, and everyone is kinda like 'gee! wonder if he's dead or not? golly how darn frustrating'. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. And sprinkled some of my favourite fanon/headcanons in there for good measure.
WARNING: I am a proud member of the 'Middle Child Virgil' Cult. My perspective on this will not be changed, so do not attempt to do so. And before you mention it, I know there is a TAS episode where John called Virgil his 'big brother'. I know, okay. But I view it as a mistake to be glossed over and forgotten about. You are inclined to have different views – I also love 2nd Child Virgil fics – but consider yourself warned. The opening sequence is the birth order, full stop.

It's year seventy-three of the Hunger Games. The Tracy family are just about keeping afloat, as they have been ever since the death of Jeff Tracy, but Scott wakes on the morning of Reaping Day with a sinking feeling in his gut. Then two slips of of paper are drawn that change the family's life forever. All he can hope for is that the odds will stay in his favour. Then again, given how the Tracy family luck has been going, he doesn't have much hope.

She keeps limping away, talking to John. “It’s worth checking at least. We haven't had any other leads on Gordon's disapearance in weeks--”
“We don’t have another submarine.” John interupts, and she frowns.
The hair on the back of her neck prickles and she gets the distinct feeling she’s being watched. She glances back, pretending like she’s rubbing her nose on her sleeve. The blond kid followed her out onto the street, steps fast and uneven. She realizes she’s an idiot.
“Kayo?” The teen asks, his breathing slightly hitched. His blue eyes stare back at her. Her brother they had a funeral for that they've been grieving for months stares at her. But he's dead. He's gone. ...But he's here. She must be losing her mind.
They stare at each other for a long beat before Kayo exhales, “Alan?”

Finding a man washed up on the beach of Tracy Island was not on Scott’s morning to-do list. And the unfortunate soul who found themselves in the Pacific Ocean is clad in Spectrum uniform, which just makes things even more complicated. But there’s something about the man that Scott recognises, and he’s sure he’s met him before, he just can’t figure out where from.
Then again, maybe it doesn't matter, as the man is most definitely dead...

Summary

Each fiction is constantly edited, i pick up mistakes and inconsistencies here there and everywhere (like ages for instance as i write these in NO REAL ORDER) so feel free to check back often.

Knowledge is a double-edged sword and it’s John Tracy’s job to know things. Whether it be the correct way to dismantle a landmine, or the French ambassador’s favourite coffee, he knows that rescues, and by extension his brother’s lives, hinge on data.
