“Agent... Swan, was it?” greets the queen. “Please, sit.”“Never,” she snaps. “Do you expect me to talk?”
“No, Miss Swan, I expect you to sit and have lunch like a civilized human being.”
Ugh, the food really does smell good. “Lunch?" Emma echoes, dropping into the offered chair as sulkily as she can. "It’s already three in the afternoon."
“Yes, you were behind schedule." The queen aims a judgmental stare down the length of her perfect nose. "Don’t worry, I accept your apology.”
“You're the worst,” Emma mumbles around a mouthful of salad.
“What was that?”
Emma swallows. “I said, this is a first.” She wishes more people fed her before trying to kill her.

After Belle's recovery from the incident with Hook and the car at the town line, the people of Storybrooke have rallied behind her to help test her memories. Brought on by an idea from Mary Margaret, her friends break off into two teams, one captained by Belle, the other by a rather reluctant Gold. The groups race each other to points around town just for the fun of it, but Belle starts up a little bet with Gold on the side. Whoever wins is going to get something very special.
Written for the Rumbelle Gift Swap in the summer of 2021. Based on the prompt from (and gifted to) Of_Princes_and_Savages.
Rated mature for the nudity and suggestive nature of the last chapter.

An ice wall has appeared around all of Storybrooke, followed by a blizzard that blankets the entire town in snow.

Sheriff Emma Swan is not happy about these developments, especially as she is eight months pregnant and currently dealing with a worried father, an overprotective husband, and a pregnant mother whose baby will be born after her own—not to mention a reforming Evil Queen and a still-wicked witch and a town that hasn’t fully recovered from the last mysterious curse.
But when the people she loves start turning up frozen Emma has no option but to seek help from old enemies and questionable allies, and to risk herself, once again, for the sake of Storybrooke.

Yes, this uses a Regina quote in a Gideon story, however I felt I had to use it, since it is the very spine of what Gideon's story is. In this series Gideon returns to Storybrooke and has to fulfill his own destiny as well as trying to fit in to a place where he had once been unwelcome. He is a very different man than the one who tried to kill the savior, but do the others trust him enough to truly accept him as one of their own?
