Fair enough, asking ‘who are you’ to your crush when you haven’t seen them in a year was not the best way to go, but no matter, because Keith is still blaming Shiro, and he told him so a month after they started their Voltron trip.
Keith’s determined to make amends and win Lance’s attention. Surely there’s something he can do that doesn’t involve his hair because that’s the only thing Lance seems obsessed about.

Keith had always been an absolute unit during their relationship. He'd been pretty much solid muscle, while still managing to pack some thick thighs and ample ass, but then his time in the Quantum Abyss aged him enough to have another growth spurt. Lance had gotten a little taller since then too, but it wasn't enough to put them back at the same level as before. Being taller and now having love handles, there was MUCH more of Keith for Lance to appreciate.

They met - of all places - at summer camp.
When they were 8, Keith and Lance lost a three-legged race by arguing so much they tripped and fell in the lake. They’d almost drowned, and when they’d been rescued, they spent the rest of the day before their moms came to get them wearing tin shock blankets and shouting insults at each other across the counselor’s office.
When they were 12, Lance stuck a marshmallow in Keith’s hair and pushed him off a slide. Keith returned the favor by stuffing a frog down Lance’s shorts. Not his proudest moment, but it’d been pretty damn satisfying to hear Lance shriek.
When they were 16, they’d almost kissed in the senior camper’s treehouse (which was fine, right? Like - it was camp. Camp was where you kissed boys and it didn’t have to mean anything).
(As it turned out, it meant something to Keith, because he never stopped thinking of the way Lance’s hair caught the moonlight and how he smelled like burnt sticks and Kool-Aid powder and it was somehow the best, most romantic scent Keith had ever -)
Anyways. Keyword: almost. They’d almost kissed.
