“Wh- SMOKESCREEN?! WHAT-“
Optimus turned with a surprised yell, but it was cut off as he was pushed through the groundbridge. He was safe. He was safe and with ratchet. Everyone else was going to be safe. Optimus would live and they would be able to regroup.
If he was injured or died in the process, then that was alright.

Aka smokescreen says ‘FRAG YOU’ to canon and Primus and pushes Optimus through the groundbridge.
He faces the consequences.

Summary
The war is over for the Autobots, and even though Starscream and Shockwave are still hiding somewhere on the planet, it's time to have a chance at respite. They throw a party to celebrate the end of the war and enjoy their peace at last!
Except, their youngest member Smokescreen feels horribly out of place. Brought online during the war, he's never known peace, and doesn't feel that the war is really over. He's unable to handle the party and heads off for a drive to clear his head, his mind saddled with guilt over feeling sad, wanting to grieve, and most importantly he can't stop thinking about Optimus' words about the Matrix.
A short Smokescreen focused work taking place after Chapter 5 and before Chapter 6 of Time Changes the Bot

Summary
After a scouting mission at an energon deposit turns into a scuffle with some Decepticons, Smokescreen is accidentally teleported away by a ground bridge summoned by Soundwave. He wakes up to find himself in the middle of nowhere with his comms offline, and, to make matters worse, an injured Soundwave is there with him, now unable to summon ground bridges. The two are forced to work with each other to make it back to their respective lives and factions as the strange effects of the haywire ground bridge start to make themselves known. Sticking together may be the last thing they want to do, but it may prove to be the key to their survival; misery acquaints a mech with strange bedfellows, after all.

Smokescreen burst into laughter, as surprising to him as it was to the scientist, nearly heaving with it as he wheezed. He slapped a servo over his intake to try to muffle it, which worked exactly not at all, and maybe he should get that surgery soon because he’s speaking without his permission again.
“You- pfftt- you’ve got to be the stupidest, most unobservant genius in the fragging galaxy, what the slag? You think you can’t feel emotions? I’ve got news for ya, buddy, and I don’t know if you’re gonna like it.”
