“That’s real sweet and all,” Toni cuts in sharply as understanding dawns on her, “but I doubt he’s my type. And it’s not the blue thing either, because that could be hot. It’s more along the lines of the whole I’m not leaving with you thing.”
“Well see, that’s where you’re wrong,” Yondu smirks and abruptly whistles. Toni’s startled for a split second by the arrow that darts towards her from where it had been sheathed at his waist. The fin on his head glows a threatening red.

Peter blinks and then says, “Oh, Hunter and Dylan and Bryce and Eddie?” They’re a mouthful but he can’t call them Kevin’s Boys like Pepper and Mr. Stark do, because then he’d have to be okay with being called Tony’s Boy and he’s really really not.
“Yup. Can I please hand them over to you to chat with?” Mr. Stark sounds actually irritated, but Peter knows they’re hitting the quarter end and it’s the fiscal year end, too. Pepper and him have been completely absent for over a week other than a few meals here or there. Peter has missed her, but he’s missed Mr. Stark more.

But that's not even what had him surprised. First of all, an incident recently gave him powers. Second, the only man he ever romantically felt something for was in a "civil war" with the people he had publically called family. Now he has to make his way to New York, a place he vowed to stay out of for fear of running into a certain billionaire, to see said billionaire. Hopefully Tony "Freaking" Stark still remembered him.
Or the one where Dean becomes inhuman after eating something. And he happened to have a little fling with Tony Stark, the first and last with a man, when he was younger, and now he needs his help. Maybe Tony needs him more.

And when that someone turned out to be his supposedly ‘dame’ student – “Bakamitsu, your information network sucks” - he was pleasantly surprised.

This time when Howard lashes out at her Toni ducks low to avoid the blow.
