Summary
After returning home from Under the Mountain, everyone is struggling to cope with the trauma of Amarantha's reign. Rhys lingers in the shadows at the Spring Court, concerned about Feyre's mental health, and his presence spurs events to unfold in unexpected ways.
The plot covers the events of A Court of Mist and Fury with major alterations. In this AU, we see what could have happened if characters were honest with each other, and talked things out rather than speaking in riddles or just avoiding topics altogether. We also get some actual apologies for egregious behavior that got glossed over in canon (looking at you, Rhys Under the Mountain) and big reveals that get put off to later books or not at all (looking at you, Lucien's paternity).
Relationships in this AU are fully consensual rather than based on bargains made under duress, half-truths, or huge power imbalances, so romances that had an enemies-to-lovers flavor feel more like friends to lovers.

But there are new dangers, new magics, and new enemies on the horizon. And if Tamlin cannot find the strength to both heal from his trauma and accept himself for what he is, then his court‒and all of Prythian‒will be doomed.
Aka: A healing and redemption arc for Tamlin where he's still held accountable for being a bad person and where I rescue all the good characters from the Inner Circle. Because I can’t hate some characters (Tamlin, Nesta, etc.) when they’re ALL horrible. That’s just hypocritical.

Summary
This is a completely ridiculous, unhinged, fluffy chapter with lots of Inner Circle bonding. Cassian has woken up from his coma and is heavily medicated. Predictably, Feyre being in Spring, the impact on Rhys, and Tamlin's behavior inspire ALOT of jokes and roasting, and then they all transition to some more serious strategizing toward the end. Feyre discovers how much reconnecting with her family, having a space to be real, and being able to just laugh can mean the difference between holding it together and falling apart.
This is a chapter from my longer work, Dangerous Dreams & Daffodils, which is set in early ACOWAR and expands on Feyre's time spying in the Spring Court. It's generally canon-compliant except that Feyre doesn't get exposed to faebane until she's about to leave Spring, so we see a lot more interaction between her and Rhys as they share this experience together. I elected to post this chapter also as a standalone piece because it has a really different tone from the rest of the work and it's a fun read.

Illyrian women birth their children in the dark. Our people suspect that doing so provides a challenge for a babe. They believe if you can find your way out in the darkness you are worthy of life. It is a myth as old as the death gods.
My father was not present at my birth.
They swore that when I was born I could sense his absence and clung to my mother, as though I could sooth her agony and loneliness. They swore my infant arms wrapped around her neck and my infant lips pressed kisses upon her temple.
My brother was not born with wings, but I was. Some Illyrian women do not survive birth. Some Illyrian babes do not survive birth. However, I was not born like most babes. I was born of my mother.
My mother was the most powerful female I knew. I learned many lessons from my mother, but perhaps the most useful lesson was to battle for what you want with offense.
My entire life I only ever wanted one thing. I wanted to be High Lady.
