(Rewrite of my orphaned work, Blood of the Desert.)
Five years after the events of XD, many people in high positions of power have either died or disappeared. Some have said it was natural. Others said it was a new team in the region, or even Cipher come back alive, have killed them. Nobody is close to the truth.
Larch didn't care about such gossip; she's always wanted to get a one-way ticket out of Orre with her two Eeveelution friends - and with her theft of the latest addition Snag machine, she might've found a way out.
Unbeknownst to her, it's put a giant target on her back, and not for any of the reasons she thinks. Because she might actually be the perfect candidate for the tests that the newcomers are doing, and if not, there's no loss, and they get what they want.
Trapped in a region where backstabbing is as common as breathing and with no help forthcoming, the three must find a way to stop a plan that might negatively change the world forever, if it doesn't change them first...

Summary
In all the things that Ash Ketchum's pokemon decided to take after him, landing themselves in weird situations was definitely a given. This situation wasn't just weird, though. It was the very definition of absurd. And, as always, absurd quickly gives way to chaos, which gives way to disasters, which gives way to way more problems than anyone's started with.
Long story short: Talonflame somehow creates a group chat with all of Ash's pokemon. Chaos quickly ensues.

They need to talk things out with their sibling. Meanwhile, Candela has a piece of shit she needs to tear apart and Spark has an angry fire-bird he needs to stop from burning down half the city.

When a new clone is found under mysterious circumstances, they are taken in by Professor Willow. However, the others soon realize that there is more secrets hidden in the twins' pasts than they had ever suspected.

Summary
Wes, a highly skilled Pokemon trainer working under Team Snagem, seemingly abandons the group he has worked with for years. This decision is brought upon by his Espeon, who believes that tragedy will strike the organization, and the only way to save them is to leave and work from the outside. However, since he is a known Team Snagem member, he shrouds his identity to avoid being recognized and imprisoned, he assumes the persona of Leo (name to be changed).
Leo rescues a woman named Rui, who claims she can see Shadow Pokemon, who have been corrupted by the Cipher organization. Leo doesn’t trust her at first, but after she ‘sees’ one and Espeon confirms that the Pokemon she sees ‘isn’t right’, then he believes her.
However, Cipher isn’t the only problem, as the group who call themselves the ‘Vigilantes’ take interest in Leo’s Pokemon skills, resulting in attempts of recruitment.
It seems that no matter who Leo ends up meeting, working with, or battles, they all have ulterior motives.

Five years have past since Cipher fell in Orre for the second and final time, their name no more than an antagonist in region history books...at least, that's what they all thought.
Cipher is far from gone and when they reveal themselves to the world they do so without mercy; Shadow Pokemon far more insane and corrupt are at their disposal, some even too far gone to be purified...now the world is cloaked in a darkness that continues to spread farther and farther.
The syndicate's tyranny seems to be unyielding as they do as they please, controlling every region and killing those that stand in their way. There are no heroes, for those known to have stopped Cipher in the past are gone and the rest are to afraid to take a stand.
Who can they turn to in these dark times?
