Teddy hadn’t ever expected to return home, after a falling out with his cousin over the unexpected path his life had taken. But really, Teddy would like to argue, is it so unexpected, considering the events of his former life? *cough*RoseCreek*cough*.
But… maybe Joshua had a point. After years of being a thief and grifter and becoming way too privy to the ugly of the world, this job has started taking its toll on Teddy. It’s affecting him mentally, emotionally, physically, and started affecting his relationship with the man he loves.
When a job goes so far off the track that it lands him and his teammates in a field of trouble, Teddy has no choice but to take them back to the place he hasn’t been in five years: home.
Perhaps, though, returning home is exactly what Teddy needs to set himself to rights, and come to terms with just what he wants in life.

She sounds amused, even as they approach Rose Creek. Teddy slides his eyes away from Red Harvest for a moment, to catch her slight smile. It’s unlikely anyone else will catch it but Teddy does. He looks at Red Harvest again and hears Emma’s amused breath. She won’t say anything else until they’re in town though and he’s grateful.
(Teddy wants Red Harvest, but there’s a town to defend and he won’t be a distraction from that. Emma pushes him to speak up though, because nothing is promised, especially now, and he’s wasting time and happiness. After all, he doesn’t want to be like Faraday, does he?)

It was a known fact, like the sky was blue: Jake was former intelligence gathering (or so he said, on the surface), Kat was likely some sort of hacker, Joshua himself was former black ops, and the husband was not just former military, but a medic to boot.
And Joshua had given every last person who worked for him second chances to do better with their lives, and they repaid that however they could, with whatever skills they could.
