Taako needed some extra cash, and tutoring was a pretty low stress job that fit his schedule. It wasn't even hard, he just met with a kid a couple times a week and helped with their homework and whatever. It was a pretty good job, and the kid he landed with wasn't half bad. Taako didn't like kids, but he guessed Agnes or Angus or whatever was alright.
He didn't plan on getting attached to the job though. Or to Angus.

“Watch your step, Beau,” a fox cackled from under the shelter of a bush, stretching and trotting out. Kravitz glared at him, tightening his cloak. “Don’t be like that. Gimme a ride,” he complained, circling Kravitz’s legs.
“Go away, Taako. I’m not your umbrella,” Kravitz retorted, walking forward determinedly. He’d had years of practice not slipping on foxes weaving under his legs.
“Beau, I’ll drown,” Taako whined, stepping in front of Kravitz and starting to put his muddy paws on the front of his cloak with his ears back. “C’mon, you barely ever notice me.”
“The villagers do,” Kravitz grumbled, holding his cloak out. “‘Fox boy, where’s your fox today?’”
Prince Beau Kravitz finds his castle under inspection. It's not quite living up to the Beauty and the Beast that the city council expects and the consequences of failure are dire. Desperate, he turns to the trickster fox Taako to pose as his missing prince.
Unfortunately, they both might have a problem pretending to be married, because they are both still acting like they only see the other as a friend.
Good thing they're already living happily ever after.
