Summary
His ears perk up and swivel as he hears a low rumble beside him. It’s soft and steady and familiar. If Taako didn’t know any better, he’d say it sounds almost like… purring? He looks down at Angus and he realizes now he can feel the vibrations in the arm he has slung over Angus's shoulders. Angus is purring. Angus, a human child, is fucking purring. Taako had thought that was just an elf thing, but maybe this plane was different than his in that way, too.

It’s the kind of place you go to for inexpensive flat-pack furniture to send with your communal child to Lucas’s Academy of Arcane Science, lest he end up with a dorm full of handmade, lavender-scented furniture carved by one of the Seven Birds and lose all hope of maybe being seen as an average boy genius.
It's the kind of place you to go for cheap meatballs and family bonding.

Barry had four rules for himself, to keep himself on track and focused on saving the world. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't break them, or he risked bringing about the end of everything.
Rule one: He could not lose control.
Rule two: He could not give up in his search for Lup.
Rule three: He could not let Lucretia go through with her plan.
And finally, probably the hardest one to keep by far,Rule four: He could not see his family.
Attacking a cooking show assistant in the back of a small caravan, Barry blows his last rule out of the goddamn water. And then he keeps breaking it. It might just be worth it though. Even without his memories, Barry could use Taako's help now more than ever.

Kravitz hadn't intended on sort of informally adopting Angus, but that was what happened. He certainly wasn't complaining though, and he was glad to have him in his life now. When he started dating Taako it seemed to be only natural to want to introduce the two most important people in his life.
Taako certainly hadn't meant to start watching after Angus at all. The kid just sort of wormed his way into his life, and it wasn't like Taako didn't know what it was like to be a kid on your own. So sure, he'd watch after the kid every so often, teach him magic and feed him and what not. And If Kravitz wanted to have their kids meet or whatever, he would bring Angus along.

Kravitz hated it when kids were around.
It wasn’t that he hated kids, he didn’t mind them really. He didn’t know how one was really supposed to interact with them, but that was pretty standard for the living in general. Kids were just an added extra puzzle to figure out. So even if he felt a bit awkward around them, they really weren’t the problem.
Kravitz just couldn’t stand when they ended up involved in his work. This one had though, irrevocably. Not only that, he'd gotten involved in his life, as much as one could consider it a life. It went beyond work, and as someone who hadn't existed outside of his job in centuries, that was a little uncomfortable.
He'd have to get used to it fast though, because Angus was here to stay.
