Maybe the gods favored him in this exact moment, because in a distant universe, his pleas would've gotten nowhere. Another version of his vengeful father would've sat atop him, hatred radiating from his entire persona as Gihun's bristly hands imprinted on Daeho's throat. Leaving him a pale, oxygen-deprived corpse.
Wearing a red penny, he wandered the arena with a druggie prancing about nearby, knife in hand. He couldn't help but tremble an ounce when wielding the weapon to someone's demise. Plus the additional stress factor of searching for Jun-hee whilst avoiding Gihun had caused beads on sweat to form on his forehead and clammy hands to boot. Maybe...maybe a single pill wouldn't hurt?
-Simply put what if Daeho was a seeker? What if Gihun's hallucinations manifested a little sooner? What if Junhee's pregnancy had been a tad bit more stressing? And what if Namgyu interacted with Daeho?
