Wei Wuxian felt himself drifting closer to the light, his hand gradually reaching out to touch, presumably, the after life. Though the light, it felt more familiar, more... alive. He sighed, his eyes narrowing and trying to adjust slowly to the brightness.
He vaguely remembered where he was, until he felt a wave of fatigue hit him hard in the head; he went tumbling down onto the floor, his eyes closing shut as the light seemed to brighten. He hadn't meant to be reincarnated, not as a Sect Leader either. He hadn't been willing to see the world once again.
But he had to see him. He needed to see him. He might've been more comfortable walking down the dark path of hell for, perhaps, forever. But he was too far into it now. He had to see him, even if it was once.

"Did he just... smile?" Jiang Wanyin breathed out, exclaiming. He had said it as if the statement was absurd, perhaps because Lan Wangji was usually too stoic and cold, but right now, the said man was smiling at him in confusion.
Lan Wangji himself was quite taken back. He usually would hide his emotions merely because he wasn't bothered to show them to people since it was unnecessary. But right this moment, the grin slipped out easily, and he felt his heart pounding at how unusually good it felt.
"Yes, Jiang Wanyin, yes I did." He replies, while behind him, Wei Wuxian walked towards them, his face neutral. Jiang Wanyin's gasps, as Lan Xichen raises an elegant eyebrow at the expression. What was going on?
"Did you two plan something? Why are you two acting like each other? It's confusing!" Jiang Wanyin yelled in frustration, a crease forming in the middle of his brows. "Please, quit it. I beg you. It's too unlike you."
Lan Wangji sighed, and rolled his eyes, a smirk present on his face. "We haven't done anything, Jiang Wanyin. I merely woke up to this feeling. Wei Ying also was quite nonverbal today..." He trails off, a dark grin forming on his face as realisation forms on the younger man's face.
