Summary
It had been his dream for as long as he could remember. He had wanted to go to GATTACA, to the stars, and now he was almost there: everyone at the aerospace corporation’s control center was waiting only for his arrival, for he was a crew member of the mission that could be launched only once every seventy years, within a window of exactly 1,680 hours. For one year he would spend his time in space as First Navigator: once to Titan and back. […]
His journey was one he should never have been allowed to undertake—he knew that. GATTACA employed only astronauts of the highest physical and psychological condition and of the finest genetic disposition, so-called “Valids.” The sole requirement to obtain this status: one’s parents had chosen a good geneticist.

Summary
“Unless the idea is that you want a show,” he says bravely, brazenly, quirking his lips up, “You’re sort of in the way.”
He watches the tips of Jerome’s ears turn red, but he doesn’t miss a beat, like he’s rising to the challenge. And really, Eugene thinks, isn’t that how it always goes? He sets the bar for him, and Jerome proceeds to smash cleanly through it.
“Am I?”

Summary
Eugene isn’t a people person. Never was, and never will be.
Maybe it’s strange for someone like him — someone who spends half his days shooing away some millions of overzealous fans, all shouting his name as he steps on stage and assumes his position behind the microphone: his pride, his freedom.
But just when Eugene thought his life couldn’t be put on yet another trajectory, there he was. It was exhilarating, unfair, and so, so, right — all at once.
(or: Eugene is a rising pop star and Vincent is his new bodyguard. But first, they need to sort some things out.)
