Keith scrubs at the tears that are definitely not forming at the corners of his eyes, forcing his mind to accept the topic change. He’ll have time to mourn his dad’s death later. “Has to do with the dead deer you brought in, I’m guessing?”
There’s a soft huff of laughter from the man opposite him. “Smart. You’re not really… human anymore, and you’re going to start craving red meat in a few hours, now that you’re finally up.”
That’s definitely a statement strong enough to completely derail his grieving. “What?”
Shiro runs a nervous hand through his hair, like he’s not even sure he made the right decision. It’s not exactly a vote of confidence. “You’re a werewolf now.”

This is a Fic War, meaning there will be two authors, ten (?) chapters, TWO THEMES, and one fic. Between myself and Watsonthebox, we'll be writing a story with two themes: mine is a werewolf au, and theirs is a coffee shop au. Our job is to weave a tale using our two themes, and try to wrench it away from the other whilst keeping to the plot.
I went first, and here's the rundown:
Keith is a werewolf. His life is pretty bad right now, ain't gonna lie. With Lotor taking control of the pack in Zarkon's absence, he and Shiro aren't in a great spot.
Especially after getting his ass handed to him in Challenge.Right now the only good thing in Keith's life is this cup of coffee he's hoping will ward off this goddamn headache. What could go wrong with that?
As for Lance, his job at the Full Moon Roast is starting off like it usually does: with him bored out of his mind as the regulars shuffle through. Only, when the bell rings and he glances up from his crayon written will, he starts to think...maybe today will be different.
Because damn, this stranger is hot. And moody. And maybe just a little bit of a flirt.
Or a lot of a flirt. But Lance has always liked a challenge.

Agreeing to let Lance make friends with that werewolf was an awful idea. By lifting the 'no wolves allowed' rule she'd apparently opened up their apartment to an entire pack of them, though she probably didn't help herself any by interacting with them outside the flat too. She blamed her flatmate for it. Lance was making her soft.
‘It’s Keith,’ he explained. Because of course it was. ‘I’m trying to find him but he’s not here.’
She looked at the bin pointedly. ‘Yes. Surprising. I also would expect to find trash in the bin.’

In hindsight, he probably should’ve known. But he didn’t. All he knew was that there was an injured animal in the bushes by their apartment, and he wasn’t about to leave it for dead. It’s just that he’d assumed it was a particularly big dog. Like an off-coloured German Shepard or something. Black fur and beautiful eyes that danced with stars like the night sky.
But no, it wasn’t a dog. He wasn’t a dog. Judging from the pained look on Pidge’s face he really, really should’ve known.
‘Does it matter?’ Lance threw his arms in the air. ‘He was injured! I wasn’t about to abandon a cute animal like this outside! Not when we have heating and a first aid kit.’
‘Uhuh,’ Pidge gripped the bridge of her nose. ‘And did you manage to get that first aid kit to fix his problems?’
‘Well…’ he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. ‘No. I didn’t. I don’t know the first thing about animals.’
