Zoey flipped her legs onto the sofa, sitting up and flashing her phone in front of them. Rumi and Mira both leaned forward to peer at the screen. Whoever had made the image had clearly used a stock image of them from their How It’s Done tour era, then digitally added clip art Santa hats. In large English at the top of the poster read the words ‘HUNTR/X ON /CE,’ and in smaller letters below, ‘Live at the Crypto.com Arena in LA, Cali!’ The whole thing looked like something put together in Canva.
They both stared at the screen, then simultaneously lifted their gaze to stare at Zoey, who innocently smiled back.
“Zoey.”
“Mira.”
“Why does this look like this look like a finished poster, and why is there a date on it?” She pointed to the phone screen, adding with some note of hysteria. “A date that is one month from now?!”

Ten months ago Zoey's husband died, leaving her alone and broken with two five year olds to take care of. She'd felt trapped, stuck in her grief, surrounded by constant reminders of him. All Zoey wanted was an escape from her pain, and somehow that led her to making the decision to pack up her entire life and move over six thousand miles from home.
