It was quiet in the shop for several long moments, Alastor’s static feedback getting gradually louder as he became more agitated from her lack of response.
He lifts his eyes when he feels Rosie’s hands cover his own on top of his microphone, ceasing their inane movements that were so unlike him. She looked genuinely taken aback by his confession, but not horrified, which was a good sign.
“Alastor, I’ve gotta admit, you’re really giving me a run for my money,” she tells him softly.

Which is why when Luke—a cheerful X-Wing pilot and the only person on Hoth who doesn’t immediately recognize Bodhi—starts coming around the shuttle bay, Bodhi does his best to keep his identity a secret. It’s great, because Luke is fun and easy to be around. It’s terrible, because sooner or later Luke is going to figure out what Bodhi was hiding.
Bodhi doesn’t stop to think that it might not be his secret that ruins things.

There, though the bamboo struggled to grow straight and not warped, twisted and mangled, Binghe was safe, glowing in a way Shen Qingqiu wondered if he had ever seen Binghe truly be happy elsewhere. Though they were far from him, Mobei-Jun’s presence in the North, as well as Sha Hualing’s control of the majority of the lower demons, meant that he could achieve a sense of tranquillity in their transposed bamboo house. No one, not even the demons who patrolled and cleaned and did everything in his palace, would bother them in their secluded courtyard. No one could touch him; no one would threaten the safety he had built around himself like the sharpened walls to defend a palace.
Perhaps… perhaps — it was Shen Qingqiu’s fault that his husband was this sombre, so quiet he might as well have become a ghost?
