SJKFHDSJFSHJ i have to rewrite this bookmark because it deleted my entire paragraph review. 🙉
anyways i'll write it again hah.
i'm so so sad to bid farewell to this fic
it put me thru so many emotions god, and it was such a ride. from the cadet trainee days to the very end, reader has grown sm given her initial circumstances and how she used to survive. tbh i clicked on this fic with mediocre expectations as i just wanted something to pass time. but it grew on me :P. i was unable to put it down and even though this is embarassing asf to admit (i downloaded it on my phone and kindle as well as read it on my desktop). I WAS ADDICTED. I REPEAT, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
ugh and not only that, reading this has been sm fun. it was so nice to be reminded of the events in s2 & s3 because i read so many fics that purely focused on s4 (which makes sense bc the cadets have probs grown up by then), BUT that didn't mean there was any less chemistry/emotion or any of that. it wasn't merely a coming of age romance... you could clearly see how reader's relationships progressed and what lead her to her choice at the end of the story, so even if you have a preexisting bias you'll understand her decision and maybe even favor it. ik i did.
it's v nice to see how relationships play out due to circumstances in s2 and s3. i feel like they're not really focused on by isayama. that man only cares about plot tbh and doesn't focus personally on characters (which leads a lot of AOT fans to do a constant psychoanalysis) but this fic really seals it for you. especially with closure and all that. it heals my heart. if s4 does end up getting written out i don't really think i'd be able to handle it because i really like the point the story ended at. and even if these characters inevitable have to live out through s4, at least reader has some memories that she can reminisce.
okay im gonna stop rambling, but i'd sell my soul to read this for the first time again <33

about a boy and girl who were tragically symbollic of the sun and moon
i have so many things to say about this one, and i think that's pretty evident if you open the actual fic and see the comments scattered all over. but in short and sweet terms - this fic is the most poetic and heart-wrenching story you can ever read. it's a literary circle (just like AOT), and accurately illustrates some of the thoughts and feelings associated with the actual show. moreover, from the subtle symbolic undertones to the mind-blowing plot twists overall accounts for one of the best works i've ever read. definitely revisiting in the future!
