Summary
He ran, and ran, and ran. No energy was spent on counting the minutes or navigating or anything else. He was a young man again, shackles bruising his flesh, legs aching as he forced foot after foot through the terrain. He had better shoes now, so no blisters and calluses formed on bleeding feet, though the pain of continuous force on his legs remained. It mixed with the chill numbing his fingers and face.
He tightened his hold on Kremy, just to remind himself that he was still there. The only thing separating his present from his past. The manifestation of luck turned around.

Summary
The connection Gideon and Kremy had was unlike anything the Genasi fighter had ever known. Kremy was there for Gideon, and Gideon was there for Kremy. It didn’t matter how many times they argued nor how close together they would sleep during those cold nights, they were there for each other and always would be. Or, at least, Gideon hoped it would be so always.
Or, 3 times Kremy saved Gideon and 1 time Gid saved Kremy.

The fire genasi stops.
“How about this: We set up camp for the night and I cook us up some dinner. You look like you haven't had a good meal in a while, friend; it goes against my sensibilities to let anyone go hungry. We can talk about my proposal more in depth, and if you’re still not having it, you can be on your way.”
