Summary
Bow and Glimmer are childhood friends who grow up in the Horde. But everything changes when Bow makes the decision to leave and find somewhere where he fits in. He didn't want leave her but he wasn't happy. This causes Glimmer into downward spiral, where she feels like she has to prove to Bow that she can be happy without him. At the end of the day they are in love and try to fight every fiber in their bodies from admitting it to each other. With each of them on opposite sides of the war can they really be happy?
Basically Catradora, but less toxic and more sexual tension.

“I would suggest you duck, but you are small enough already.” A streak of red energy shot out over Scanlan’s head, hitting the guard in the chest.
Cass was so distracted that she hadn’t even noticed him approaching behind them with a sword in his hand. The sword clattered to the ground, skidding across and to the jail bars where a hand reached through.
The hand had blackened fingertips with long sharp nails. He grabbed the sword and pulled it through the bars.
She saw the movement of him waving a hand, the door clicking open. It swung outwards on its own, and the figure stepped out.
The prisoner turned and raised his head, looking at them all.
And Cass felt the world stop.

Vex slowly draws her bow as she hears the sound of quick and uneven footfalls far off on dry forest floor.
She sees the creature she’s hunting at a distance. It’s dark enough that the world is melting into darkvision monochrome, but she can see that the monster wears a coat, that it’s in a terrible hurry, and that it’s limping.
Vampires generally aren’t known for holding onto wounds. It was injured in the last minute or so—Vex isn’t the only one after the bounty.
Vex nocks a holy arrow. She should take it out quick, one shot, so she doesn’t need to rush in with a silver dagger and make things messy. She’s so much better with a bow.
