Summary
The secluded corner of the camp was quiet, save for the distant murmur of the river and the occasional rustle of leaves. Verso settled on a fallen log, the wood rough beneath his fingers, and tilted his head back to study the stars. They blurred slightly, the wine softening the edges of the world. He didn’t need to turn to know Maelle was there—her presence was like a shift in the air, a warmth at his back.
“You’re predictable.”

Summary
The heretic child looks almost pitiful, huddled in the cell’s corner with her knees drawn up to her chest, but Ystride does not — cannot — let her heart be softened by the sight. ’Tis only an act. The creature is no longer her daughter, if ever it had been.
If it is mercy it seeks, it will not find even a hint within her.

Summary
Eighteen years after the Phoenix Gate incident, Rosaria is notorious for three things: the wars she's won, the Twin Flames who lead her, and her hatred for those who betrayed her.
And maybe something else, if Dion can ever figure out what that is.
“There are rumors,” Terence says after a moment, which is odd. He’s not one to traffic in such things.
Dion faces him fully, bemused and amused in equal measure. “What rumors?” He shifts closer, past propriety, and murmurs, “Don’t hold out on me.”
Terence reddens. “No—they aren’t fit for polite company.”
That only makes him more curious. He watches as the elder Rosfield steps closer to the younger to murmur something in his ear. The archduke is perhaps taller by an inch, but they seem of a height. Twin Flames—an inadequate descriptor, as nothing else about them is alike. They are as similar as sun and moon. “Not fit for polite company,” he muses. That is interesting.

Summary
In the heat of summer, Clive and Joshua read in bed.
“Do you want to keep reading?”
“Yes,” Joshua tilted his head forward and Clive felt the tremble of him stretching his arms. He then pushed his book to the side of the bed.
“Just—let me get comfortable.”
Joshua lifted himself from where he was mostly seated on the bed, to into Clive’s lap proper. He maneuvered Clive’s legs around himself until he got the hint to cross them, allowing Joshua to no longer have to cross his own and to stretch his legs out. He pressed back against Clive until he was flush against his chest, his rear right on Clive’s crotch. Clive stilled for a moment, and cleared his throat. Joshua didn’t seem to realize something was amiss.Bookmarked by 553

Summary
Clive could have sighed—really, this was his fault.
He had started too early, and spoiled Joshua too much. Spoiled rotten his brother was, content to lie back as pleasure was inevitably given to him, as was his right.Clive found he did not mind.

Summary
Joshua confronts the demon from his nightmares in a very healthy way.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” Clive manages, voice strained and tight.
“But you need to…” Joshua dazedly trails his fingertips down his brother’s impressive chest and over his abdomen, marveling at the god of a man before him. “Let him take you— let him take me. Ifrit.”
